Mid-Coast Energy Systems takes pride in being on the cutting edge of new energy technology.  As an exhibitor at the Midcoast Sustainable Energy Expo for the last three years, MCES, once again, demonstrated our dedication to protecting the environment by offering alternatives to the conventional.        (see pictures)

Solar Hot Water Systems, Geothermal Energy and Hi-Efficiency Air-to-Air Heat Pumps are a few of the options that we can offer our eco-friendly and cost-concious clients.  MCES partners with building contractors and homeowners in the design stage to present the most economically and ecologically friendly heating, cooling and hot water systems for your home.      

This year we promoted the Steffes Heating System which was lent to us by the Chewonki Foundation for the 2010 Expo Event.  This heating system concept is positively simple.  Steffes operates during off-peak, overnight hours storing heat in a series of core bricks during the time when electricity cost is low.  When fully charged, the Steffes lets the stored thermal heat flow into the room by way of a small fan.  The rate at which it releases heat depends on the demand for it.  This simple theory will save hundreds even thousands on heating bills.  In a world of fluctuating gas prices and ever more intense fluctuating oil prices we don't have to rely completely on these fossil fuels any longer.  This concept has worked for thousands of years.  Steffes just created a fresh design...
