Quick Kitchen Tips
When baking smaller things like potatoes use your toaster oven.
Don't check your food by opening the door, use the light. Each "peek" can cost you 25°.
Fill your dishwasher before you run the cycle.
Your dishwasher consumes more energy drying your dishes than it does washing them. For this reason, open the door when the washing cycle is complete. Using the "air dry" option will also conserve energy.
Also, when you pre-wash your dishes use cold water.
When using the cook top try and match the pan size to the the element size(when possible). Larger pans on smaller elements waste heat.
Open your fridge or freezer only when necessary.
Keep your freezer full. If you don't have a lot of food to put into it you may also freeze jugs of water. This will help the condenser not work as hard.
